Expectancies for the Mathematical Programs

DoDDs educators and administrators formulated and structured the DoDDS Standards and Expectancies based on criteria developed by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) and published in the Curriculum and Evaluation Standards for School Mathematics. The DoDDS Standards provide a broad overview of the mathematics curriculum. Although the formats are similar and the content comparable, the DoDDS Standards are not identical in number to the Standards developed by NCTM. Some of the NCTM Standards have been combined in order to obtain consistent DoDDS Standards at each grade level.

The Expectancies emerged and grew from the DoDDS Standards and are specific and detailed in nature. The Expectancies are intended to assist teachers by providing specific guidance for teachers in weekly and monthly planning.
